Rally, it means a lot to hear from friends near and far (time and distance.)</font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#247E2F"><br></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#247E2F">Though I have been here three whole days, I really launched myself into "the Springs on Monday:</font></div><div><br></div><div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080">Last night (1.5.9) on my way home from retrieving my vehicle (the moving company brought it to COS) I was turning into a little coffee/wifi place, skidded on some gravel and rolled my care (full gainer with a twist).</font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080"><br></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080">Fortunately I was securely seat belted and my only injuries are psychological. I will need a "new" car to be sure, it was crunched, twisted, and I doubt it would be worth fixing. </font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080"><br></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080">Other than a fitful night's "sleep" and all the stuff that comes next (traffic court, etc.) I am fine. Though a bit shaky about the who experience. But it has given me twelve and a half years of great service. Time for MORE CHANGE.</font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080"><br></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080">Funnily enough, it happened DIRECTLY across the street from Compassion Int'l—where I start work next Mon. (1.12.9). So, I call my long time friend Curtis Fletched and my "supervisor" Scott Barnes and they came right over. Three of four men (total strangers) stopped immediately to assist me. One pulled off my sun roof window to check on me. Next I released my seat belt, as the car sat on its right (passenger) side, stood, opened the drivers side "hatch" (now on top of the car.) As one fellow held it open, I climbed out and was helped to the ground.</font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080"><br></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080">As my license plate reads "MIRACLE." </font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080"><br></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080">They called 911 right away and police, paramedics, and a big fire truck all arrived fairly quickly. </font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080">When the tow truck came they righted the vehicle and we unloaded several boxes of my stuff, plus my groceries and computer. MacBook, iPhone, and gallon of milk survived in tact. Curtis and another Compassion fellow (who was just driving by and stopped to help, before he knew it was me—we'd met when I was there for my day-long Festival of Interviews) they helped me get my stuff back to my apt. (Just a mile away.)</font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080"><br></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080">I really am not a bit bruised (physically)—too bad as one of the paramedics was a very pretty woman. (I did allow her check my spine, <i>briefly</i>.)</font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080"><br></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#800080">That's the short version. I wanted to get "my story" out to you before you got exaggerated version on TMZ or The Drudge Report. Scott took a few photos.
